■Place :REC 101, Ryukoku University, Seta campus

Prof. Nagasaki examined various schools of thought on nationalism from the standpoint of a researcher specializing in Indian history and argued that any attempt to understand nationalism purely in terms of violence would fail to provide a proper understanding of nationalism in India.

During the discussion following her presentation, it was pointed out that further research is needed to address the question of how to situate forms of nationalism that are not linked with violence in the existing framework of nationalism studies.
